Monthly Schedule

Redford Interfaith Relief is following all Covid-19 safety protocols to remain open and keep helping our families in need. We have changed to a contact free Curb Service for food pick up.  People with appointments drive up to the curb along Margareta Street to the temporary sign marked "Pick Up”; there may be a waiting line.

Note to Registered Clients: If you miss your appointment for two month or more, you will not be scheduled; you must call the office to get your new schedule.

Upcoming appointment dates will be posted here and on our Facebook page. You must have an appointment scheduled before coming to the office. TEFAP clients: If you do not already have your monthly appointment scheduled, you can call our office on Wednesdays from 9 am to 1 pm to do so.

  • Thursday, December 2 : RED TEFAP
  • Friday, December 3: GREEN TEFAP
  • Friday, December 10: BLUE TEFAP
  • Tuesday, December 14: PURPLE TEFAP 

Redford Residents needing emergency food may call 313-387-9802 to make an appointment.

The best time to call is Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays between 10:00am and 1:00pm. If you do not get through, please leave a message.  We ask for you to please only leave one message.  We will return your call.

Client Programs

All client programs are following Gleaners Community Food Bank and CDC COVID-19 guidelines with social distancing and everyone wearing masks to keep everyone safe. Click here read the Gleaners guidelines.

All food programs are temporality replaced by a Curb Service Pickup due to COVID-19. Drive up, pop your trunk for no contact delivery, by appointment only.

Please call the office 313-387-9802 on Wednesdays if you need emergency food; our volunteers will be happy to provide you information and an appointment for emergency food or clothing.
Client Choice Emergency Food Pantry
  • Temporarily replaced by Curb Service:  Clients may shop once a month in our Healthy Client Choice Emergency Food Pantry, with nutritionally balanced sections for their groceries and personal care items
  • Our pantry provides
    • Fresh produce
    • Fruits and vegetables. some home grown in local gardens
    • Frozen meat and other proteins
    • Canned vegetables & fruits
    • Bread & bakery items
    • Cereals
    • Refrigerator items and other staples
  • Personal care items, paper products and cleaning products are also provided when available
TEFAP - The Emergency Food Assistance Program 
​The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) is a federal program that helps supplement the diets of low-income Americans by providing them with emergency food assistance at no cost. USDA provides 100% American-grown USDA Foods and administrative funds to states to operate TEFAP.
  • TEFAP is a once a month food distribution adding 6-9 additional items to RIR’s Client Choice Emergency Food Pantry
  • Qualifications for TEFAP are 200% of Federal Poverty Level
  • Everyone who qualifies for TEFAP will also receive food from our pantry

Senior Liquid Nutrition Program
A monthly Ensure program provided to seniors 60+ by Wayne County Senior Services, distributed by RIR.
  • To apply go to the Wayne County Senior Services site: https://www.waynecounty.com/departments/seniorservices/liquid-meals.aspx or you may call 734-326-5202
  • After your Ensure is ordered by Wayne County, it will be sent to  RIR for you to pick up here on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, 10AM - noon

Clothing Closet Program
  • Everyone that comes to their food program appointment may shop in our Clothing Program each month
  • We have clothing for adults, children and infants, size 0-6xx (if available)
